Daniel Zaar stays in Rögle

Last minute The world stood up after Putins decision in

Zaar was one of the players who swapped the Russian KHL for a loan spell in the SHL last season, following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. After the end of the season, negotiations have been held with Nizhny Novgorod, which have now borne fruit.

“It feels great, nice that all the pieces are in place and not having to walk around and think about this. Now I know what to do in the future. This is where I want to be, so it was a fairly easy decision to choose Rögle in particular. This is home for me, I feel safe here, we get a good team and have a chance to win. That’s what you play for,” says Zaar in a press release.

Last season, he scored three goals and 12 assists in 16 games in the regular season for the Ängelholm club.

“Zaar is one of the league’s best wing forwards and showed it very much when he came back to us this spring. He brings speed, technique and a goal instinct to our lineup and is a player everyone wants to play with,” says Rögle’s sporting director Chris Abbott.
