First 70.93 in Sollentuna, followed by 70.38 in Turku in Finland and finally a whopping 71.45 in Johvi in ​​Estonia is Ståhl’s mighty suite last week.

The secret behind the big success for the boys is a newfound harmony and the cooperation with the new coach Staffan Jonsson really starting to have an effect. It was in March that Ståhl left Växjö to move to Malmö and start a completely new life.
– He has landed very well in Malmö – lives well, feels well and feels at home here. We have technically found each other quite quickly. He is throwing very well now and has been for a few weeks. Then life will be easy, says the new coach to Dagens Nyheter.

Daniel Ståhl lives with his girlfriend Fanny Roos and the move to Malmö has resulted in a new career boost. The Swede has now also written powerful sporting history in the discus, as no one else has ever managed to throw over 70 meters in three straight competitions.

Ståhl’s throw over 71 meters was also his sixth time in his career and no other discus thrower has managed to do it so many times before.
– No one has done it before, so we gratefully accept that, says Staffan Jönsson to the daily.
– You have to have self-confidence to know what to do in the ring – and he has that very well right now.

The big goal of the season will be the upcoming World Championships in Athletics this summer, and Ståhl, with both Olympic and World Cup gold to his credit, is looking for another medal to add to his collection.
– He has the experience and is technically safe now. We will do our thing and then the competition will decide how far it goes. We’re going in there and enjoying ourselves, says coach Jönsson in the interview and sees a bright future for the Swedish superstar in the discus.
– If Daniel wants to, age will not limit him for the next five years at least. It’s just thundering on.
