Since the end of the Harry Potter series, Daniel Radcliffe has appeared in a wide variety of films and series. He fearlessly takes on one role after the other and is not afraid of any of them acting challenges back. In the meantime he has built up a considerable post-Potter work.
What many people don’t even know: The Harry Potter films mark definitely not Radcliffe’s debut in front of the camera. Even before the elaborate fantasy film adaptation, he could be seen in two productions. In 1999, he starred in a David Copperfield miniseries. His first major film followed in 2001: The Tailor of Panama.

Before Harry Potter: Daniel Radcliffe starred alongside Pierce Brosnan in The Tailor of Panama
The Tailor of Panama is the film adaptation of the novel of the same name by John le Carré. It was staged Agent comedy by John Boorman, known for action films such as Point Blank and When You Die, Everyone Comes First. The story revolves around an MI6 agent who is transferred to Panama as a punishment.

While Pierce Brosnan takes on the role of the convicted agent, we also get to know the eponymous tailor and his family: the pendulums. Geoffrey Rush plays Harry Pendulum, Jamie Lee Curtis plays his wife Louisa. They’re joined by Lola Boorman as daughter Sarah and – you guessed it – Daniel Radcliffe as son Mark. At the time of filming, Radcliffe was straight once nine years old.

The tailor of Panama was released in the USA in March 2001, before Radcliffe appeared on the big screen for the first time as Harry Potter a few months later in November. Seven more adventures from the fantasy universe were to follow before he said goodbye to Hogwarts in 2011.
