Daniel Helldén has been chosen as the new spokesperson for the Green Party after the resignation of Per Bolund. He won by a margin of one vote – 131 to 130.

Helldén sits in the Riksdag and has previously served as traffic councilor in Stockholm.

– Fantastic, thank you Congress, says Helldén from the stage.

He won in the last round of voting against challenger Magnus P Wåhlin.

– I will not say much now, I will thank all the candidates. It’s a wonderful process we had, big thanks to Magnus.

The Green Party’s choice of mouthpiece has been a horror story. A total of twelve male candidates have stood up, and right up to the last it was uncertain who it would be.

In the end, the battle was thus mainly between Daniel Helldén and the priest Magnus P Wåhlin.
