  • Dangerous object in Upplands Väsby

    The police found a suspected dangerous object in Upplands Väsby at around 6.30 pm. The item must have been found in a residential building.

    Later, the police announced that the object was sharp.

    – Some evacuation was done, but not the entire house, says Nadya Norton at the Stockholm Police.

    The police have taken care of the object and started a preliminary investigation regarding preparation for public destruction.

    The rescue service has moved out with several forces to Märsta.

    – There’s a fire in a shop, it’s completely burnt out. We have just arrived and are working now, says Kim Hellberg, management operator at the rescue service.

    At the moment, there seems to be no need for medical care.

  • Details: Person found with gunshot wound

    A large police operation is underway in Salem, southwest of Stockholm, after reports of loud explosions.

    – We are there and checking it, says police spokesperson Nadya Norton.

    A person has been found with suspected gunshot wounds, according to Aftonbladet’s information.

    A police helicopter is searching the area.

    According to reports, witnesses should have seen a person disappear on an electric scooter after the explosions were heard.

  • Car crash on the E18 – ambulance on the way

    Two passenger cars have collided on the E18 outside Grums, which NWT first reported.

    – The emergency services are there and an ambulance is on its way. There are supposed to be three people involved, says a spokesperson at SOS Alarm to Aftonbladet.

    The extent of the damage is unclear.

    The road is closed in the southbound direction. One lane is kept open in the northbound direction.

    Thousands of Israelis took to the streets of Jerusalem on Monday night to protest against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government.

    According to Haaretz there have been clashes with the police and at least five people have been arrested.

    The police also allegedly used water cannons to put out a fire that the protesters had lit on the road.

    The protesters gathered outside the Knesset and Netanyahu’s residence. They demand new elections, a ceasefire in Gaza and an agreement to release the hostages.

  • Massive cocaine seizures in European ports

    Last summer, German authorities seized 35.5 tons of cocaine from several ports, with the help of Europol. The size of the raids has not previously been made public, and the total street value of the narcotics is estimated to be roughly SEK 29 billion.

    About 24.5 tons of the cocaine were seized in Hamburg, Germany, while eight tons were seized in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. In Guayaquil in Ecuador, another three tons were discovered.

    The drugs were hidden between, among other things, fruit boxes in shipping containers. Seven people have been arrested in recent weeks, suspected of being involved in drug smuggling.

    The smuggling is believed to have taken place between April and September 2023, and is suspected to have been organized by a criminal network controlled from Germany, according to Europol.

  • Shooting at playground

    Several police patrols are on the scene in Landskrona after a shooting.

    A cordon has been set up at a playground, which is the suspected crime scene.

    “Several people have been visible at the scene and all leave during the shooting. There are no reports of personal injuries,” the police write on their website.

    A weapon dog has been called in to search the area.

    The police have opened a preliminary investigation into attempted murder and serious weapons offences.

  • Boy found bruised in parking lot

    Shortly before 8:30 p.m., the police were called to a location in central Borås.

    “Passers-by find a bruised guy in a parking lot,” the police write on their website.

    The boy, who is in his early teens, was taken by ambulance to hospital and the extent of his injuries is currently unclear.

    – He was awake and talkative in any case, says police spokesperson Jens Andersson.

    When the police searched the area further, they discovered two other guys in their early teens.

    Both have been brought in for questioning and are suspected of serious assault.

  • Confusion in train traffic after train stops

    During the evening there was a stop in the train traffic between Stockholm and Flemingsberg due to an accident.

    Train traffic between Stockholm and Gothenburg/Malmö and all commuter train lines were affected.

    At 9:30 p.m. there were still delays and canceled trains in the commuter train service.

    “There is a continued halt in train traffic for the long-distance and regional trains between Stockholm C and Flemingsberg. Delays on other routes”, writes the Swedish Transport Administration.

  • Man injured after shooting in Malmö

    There has been a shooting in Annelund in Malmö. Several police patrols are on site and a cordon has been set up – but not where the injured man was found.

    – We are searching with a special search dog on site, says Patric Fors, press spokesperson for the police region South.

    The police do not want to comment on whether the injured man has been shot.

    – The man is still being checked by the ambulance service, says Patric Fors.

    So far, no one has been arrested or suspected, but the police are interviewing witnesses at the scene.

  • Hezbollah member killed in Israeli attack

    A person from the Lebanese Islamist movement Hezbollah has been killed in an Israeli drone attack in southern Lebanon, state media reports in the country.

    Hezbollah issued a statement identifying the member as Muhammad Ayoub.

    Israel’s military describes him as a prominent figure from a rocket unit within Hezbollah, and says he was involved in, among other things, planning attacks from southern Lebanon against Israel.

    Israel and Iran-backed Hezbollah have been shelling each other almost daily since the Gaza war began as a result of Hamas’ attack on Israel in October.

  • Moped hit by car – one to hospital

    A traffic accident occurred in Stenhagen in Uppsala at around 5:30 p.m.

    A moped collided with a car. The moped rider had to be taken by ambulance to hospital but is not said to be seriously injured, according to the police.

    The driver, a man in his 40s, is suspected of negligence in traffic and causing bodily harm.

  • House artist Dario G dead – was 53 years old

    British house artist Paul Spencer, better known as Dario G, has died.

    It reports The daily newspaper.

    He died after a long battle with cancer. The death is confirmed by the family. Dario G was best known for the song “Synchyme”.

    He was 53 years old.

  • Person found dead – man arrested

    A dead person has been found in Kramfors municipality.

    The police were alerted to the incident at 2pm on Monday. A man has been arrested and the police are investigating the incident as a murder.

    The police do not want to go into any further details about the incident or the crime victim.

    – You must be allowed to continue working on this now and there will be further interrogations, says Åsa Mjörndal, press spokesperson at the police.

    “Intensive investigative work is underway, including through trace protection, crime scene investigation and questioning,” the police write on their website.

    They write that helicopters, drones and police dogs are involved in the investigative work.

    – It is above all documentation of the crime scene.

    The police consider it to be an isolated incident.

    Next of kin have been notified.

    Hello! This is what it says on SR’s website: “If you want to listen to Summer in P1, you can either listen directly on FM at 1 p.m., just as usual, or on Sveriges Radio Play – where you can also listen to the summer episodes afterwards” .

    You can therefore listen live on the radio. However, you will not be able to listen to the episodes in other apps such as Spotify.
