The bathhouse affected by legionella bacteria in the children’s pool
After receiving back the test results from Friday’s tests, it was established that the bathhouse was affected by sky-high levels of legionella bacteria in the children’s pool, which also South Sweden reported on.
The levels in the pool were ten times higher than a permissible limit value.
– The pool has been so popular that a lamp has been installed. When the light is orange, bathers must get up so that the treatment plant has the opportunity to recover, says the environmental inspector Åsa Thorné to South Sweden.

Hylliebadet had to close the pool
Legionella bacteria can cause Legionnaires’ disease, which in the worst case can lead to death. The bacteria are spread in the air through small water droplets, which people inhale.
Hylliebadet had to close the pool again urgently and now a clean-up process and intensive cleaning work has begun.
What caused the bacterial outbreak is still under investigation.
– There is a suspicion that soil or soil bacteria may have gotten into the water, says the leisure administration’s unit manager Anki Magnusson to South Sweden
