The emergency services are currently on site at Astra Zeneca in Södertälje due to corrosive acid leaking onto a truck bed at a loading dock.

– A dangerous substance called methacrylic acid has leaked out. A cubic meter has leaked out on a truck bed and a little has run down on the ground, says the duty officer of the rescue service, Andreas Linder, to TV4 Nyheterna.

Building evacuated

The emergency services are on site with four stations to clean up and collect the substance in plastic containers. The alarm reached the emergency services at 09:00 and they have been on the scene since then.

– We have set up a local cordon there at the loading dock. You need protective equipment there, he says.
