HERE ARE THE PRODUCTS ADDED TO THE WARNING

The FSA added 150 gram Kinder Easter egg hunt kits, 75 gram Kinder Mini eggs, 200 gram Kinder schokobons and 100 gram Kinder Surprise surprise eggs to its warning.

It was announced that all the eggs collected were produced in the same factory in Belgium.

Chocolate maker Ferrero said that none of the Kinder products offered for sale showed a positive result in the salmonella test.

“We take food safety issues extremely seriously and we sincerely apologize for this,” the firm said.

Most of the 63 salmonella cases that have emerged so far have been in children aged 5 years and younger. No case resulted in loss of life.

More cases were reported in Europe.

Other countries with cases are France, Germany, Sweden, the Netherlands and Ireland.

“PURPOSE OF MEASURE”

The FSA stated that Ferrero voluntarily collected the products as a precautionary measure and did not receive any complaints; He noted that the firm is working closely with food safety officials to determine the cause of the outbreak.

Investigations by public health agencies “found a link between reported cases of salmonella poisoning across the UK and a specific product manufactured by the Ferrero company,” the FSA said in the alert.
