Tunturirallli’s most famous participant Kalle Rovanperä Driving to the bench on Friday morning in Rovaniemi in a fierce situation.
The double world champion of the rally had to dodge a person who followed the competition on the first special stage of Friday.
Rovanperä finally continued to continue the competition. However, he stopped a short distance to check the car, but the journey continued.
Rovanperä admitted in the EK goal interview that he had to avoid the viewer.

Sports Expert Henri Haapamäki stated that the exit was due to the viewer’s mistake.
– Now it was the spectator’s exit. The viewer lifted one foot out of the way, but the other was still on the road. Kalle came full of the right run, but had to go out of the line. The car’s stern grabbed the bench and sucked the bow there, Haapamäki explained.
– Kalle was as he should. This is completely excluded that viewers are on the rally route. The audience should go out of the way already during the pre-cars.
For Rovanperä, the fell rally is an important test for the Swedish World Rally in two weeks. He is testing new Hankook tires that have not driven in Sweden before.
– This 22 -kilometer special test was now ruined. Much more is ruined here. The whole feeling will suffer if you wonder what kind of emotional driver will suffer after such a situation. It is not easy to assemble yourself and go for the next special stages. In addition, the car’s bow has been damaged, aerodynamic parts and others are not in perfect condition, Haapamäki comments.
