Danderyd hospital has gone into staff mode as a result of an increase in the number of covid-19 patients, the hospital writes in a press release.

The hospital describes the situation as “strained” and that the infection season – with both covid-19 and influenza – is putting a heavy burden on the region.

The staff situation means that the hospital is reducing the planned care and taking measures to secure access to, among other things, staffing and care places.

“We have a challenging situation with above all covid-19, which affects both patients and employees. We are therefore gathering strength and increasing our preparedness in order to be able to quickly prioritize measures and make decisions,” says Christophe Pedroletti, CEO of Danderyd Hospital, in the press release.

Danderyd Hospital is one of several hospitals in Sweden that is currently on staff mode. Earlier this week, the same measure was taken at, among others, Norrtälje Hospital, Södertälje Hospital and at the University Hospital in Örebro.

The staff situation at Danderyd hospital began at four o’clock on Wednesday afternoon.
