The Balticconnector gas pipeline, which runs between Finland and Estonia, has been repaired and is expected to be put back into service on April 22, the operator Gasgrid announced in a press release.

The repairs have gone according to plan and tests have shown that the line is tight again.

Balticconnector has been out of service since last October, when a leak was discovered. The following month, Finnish police confirmed that an anchor found near the damaged gas pipeline belonged to a Chinese vessel. An investigation into whether the destruction was intentional or whether it was an accident has subsequently been ongoing.

According to Svenska EPN, it is still unclear whether the damage occurred accidentally or whether it was sabotage.
