“Dama Bëgga Ñibi”, the fruit of an unexpected musical encounter

Dama Begga Nibi the fruit of an unexpected musical encounter

The New Zealander Aaron Ottignon and the Senegalese percussionist Bakane Seck met in the studio in Berlin in 2020. And if their understanding was immediate, they had not really planned to work together. Like all of us, Covid-19 and confinement fell on them and they found themselves locked in the studio. So, not only do they work together, but they compose new songs which will result in this album Dama Bëgga Ñibi which means “I want to go home” or “I’m homesick” in Wolof.
