The home team played Dallas the 3 – 0 lead after 23 minutes. The contribution of the Finnish players in Dallas was strong. Jani Hakanpää fired the hosts into the lead in the fifth minute of the match with a strong shot from the blue line. The disc was served to the Finnish defender Esa Lindell.

The finish was fourth for Hakanpää during the season and seventh for the entire NHL career. Prior to moving to Dallas this season, Hakanpää, 30, has represented Carolina and Anaheim in the NHL.

Dallas later increased their lead in the opening round Tyler Seguinin with paint. At the start of the second round, Dallas escaped to lead over 3-0 as a Finnish defender Miro Heiskanen fired a one-timer at the finish John Klingbergin from the feed. Heiskanen, 22, has scored five goals this season.

However, the final installment started miserably from Dallas. The Western Conference jumbo team in Arizona rose to the levels in eight minutes and stretched the settlement to extra time. The final score was 4–3 Travis Boyd in the second minute of the extension. Harri Säteri scored 26 goals on Arizona.

The Vegas Golden Knights, who wanted a place to play in the playoffs, suffered a 3-4 loss to the Chicago Blackhawks in the winning goal competition. Dallas leads Vegas by four points. With only one match left, it’s impossible to catch up anymore.

Vegas, one of the league’s top clubs in previous seasons, is therefore out of the playoffs.

Dallas will play their last regular season game against the Anaheim Ducks the night before Saturday.
