Rarely reacted to a kiss with as much malice and laughter as to the between Rey (Daisy Ridley) and Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) in Star Wars 9: Skywalker’s rise. Where did this sudden romantic impulse come from? Many viewers found it inappropriate. Even five years later, Daisy Ridley thinks the scene is absolutely justified.

It felt like a farewell and therefore deserved. You can interpret a kiss in 1000 ways. But I felt as if I were to say with my role.

According to Collider, it was the last joint scene for Ridley and Driver. According to the report, however, Ridley had to Rotate parts of the scene later, in which her reaction to the death of Drivers figure can be seen. Kylo Ren dies after kissing Rey. Ridley revealed in the interview:
We had to reshoot some scenes. So on my very last day I was supposed to just sit there and [den Körper von Kylo Ren] Look while the camera moved away from me. Director JJ Abrams only asked: ‘Are you doing well?’ And I I immediately cry out because it felt like a real goodbye.
After she has already embodied Rey in three movies, Ridley will soon return in Star Wars 10. Is she staying loyal to the franchise to ease the pain of parting? Judging by her emotional words, it doesn’t seem entirely unlikely.
