The album, which includes the mega hit “Get lucky”, took Paris duo Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christos several years to complete. It is mostly recorded with analog equipment and features guest artists such as Nile Rodgers, Giorgio Moroder and Pharrell Williams.
The updated version of the album will be released digitally and in two different versions, one with three vinyls and one with two CDs, on Friday, May 12. The album also contains 35 minutes of previously unreleased music in the form of demos and bonus tracks.
On February 22, 2021, Daft Punk announced the band’s disbandment in an eight-minute long video called “Epilogue”.
