It’s been official for months now. The C8 channel will stop emitting TNT on February 28. The channel of the Canal+ group has lost the battle in the face of the authority for the regulation of audiovisual and digital communication (Arcom), the audiovisual regulator, which decided not to renew its frequency for the benefit of two newcomers: west west France TV and T18, from the CMI France group of Daniel Kretinsky.
This shock decision, announced six months ago, begins to deliver its real motivations. Until now, there was mainly question of the numerous slippages of the chain star host, Cyril Hanounaand his talk show Touche not at my post. A program that holds the sad record of 7.6 million euros in fines combined for its excesses on the air.
But according to elements published in the press, especially in Les Echos, the point and 20 minutes, the authority had other grievances against C8. Certainly the escapades of Hanouna and TPMP are pointed. The violent clash between Cyril Hanouna and the deputy Louis Boyard, who earned Canal+, owner of C8, a fine of 3.5 million euros alone is often recalled.

Be that as it may, by condemning C8 to the death penalty, the Arcom wanted to remind channels the need to respect the obligations of pluralism, ethics, control of the antenna and to offer a diversified offer of programs and singular. And beware of the chains that would move from the specifications.
