The alternative proposed by the Fietsersbond is a route along the Maatweg on the other side of the hospital. “A bicycle path runs parallel to the Maatweg via the Balladelaan, but through the park,” explains Wagemakers. “There is already a cycle path there, and you could build a cycle route there. That route is already being used much more by cyclists because it is a more logical route.”
