John Hassler, professor of macroeconomics, will propose relaxations in the amortization requirements in the investigation in a month’s time. Archive image. Photo: Anders Wiklund/TT
Amortization requirements should be lowered. This is what the current inquiry will propose when it presents its proposal in just over a month. This is confirmed by John Hassler, professor of economics and one of the investigators, reports Svenska Dagbladet.
– I will come at the beginning of November with a proposal for relief, said John Hassler recently in connection with a trade fair.
A reduction or abolition of the amortization requirement would provide relief for many households that currently have high interest rates.
– The rules we have today reduce the demand for housing. If the government loosens the rules, demand will increase, Hassler said.
A scrapped amortization requirement was one of the Moderates’ election promises, and the Sweden Democrats have also pushed the issue. Both the Financial Supervisory Authority and the Riksbank have been critical of an abandoned requirement.

The vessel MV Ruby was supposed to sail through Danish waters with pilot assistance during the weekend – but that is not to be.

But that plan has changed, reports Danish TV2.
Anne Heinze, Danpilot’s press manager, writes to TV2 on Sunday morning that the company has no current order for a pilot, whose task is to help and advise a ship’s captain.
According to sites that follow shipping, the ship is more or less stationary outside Norway.
