An alleged Highway Traffic Act violation led police to find fentanyl on a cyclist earlier this year, Sarnia police say.
At around 5 am on Aug. 24, police stopped a cyclist for the alleged, unspecified violation and reportedly saw something wrapped in plastic protruding from the man’s sock, police said in a news release Tuesday.
The object turned out to be fentanyl in a plastic bag, leading police to search the man further and find 20 grams of fentanyl and a small amount of cocaine, police said.
Terrence Vincent Plain, 37, of Sarnia was charged with possession and possession for the purpose of trafficking, police said.
Plain was held for a bail hearing and released by the court while awaiting the outcome of the case, police said.
