Cycling: Sweden’s first medal in the Paralympics in Paris – Anna Beck takes bronze in the tempo race

It took a week, then there it was – the first Swedish medal in the Paralympics.

44-year-old Anna Beck from Kil was the one who finally broke the medal drought. But it was after a real scare, where in the end only three tenths separated the Swiss Flurina Rigling.

– A great run by Anna, she has done everything we can expect from her, says SVT Sports expert Mikael Fredriksson.

Third medal in the Paralympics

Anna’s time on the 14.1 kilometer race was 21.54.71. The German winner Maike Hausberger was just over 24 seconds ahead of the Swede. The British Frances Brown was second.

In the Paralympics in Tokyo, Beck won double silver.
