Cycling: Lisa Nordén after the SM gold as a 39-year-old: “Perhaps the title that means the most”

It has almost been twelve years since the thousand-part drama that ended with an Olympic silver in the triathlon at the London Games.

Today she won the 32 km long tempo race, only on a bicycle without swimming and running, without having to count in thousandths. She was 1.03 ahead of runner-up Ebba Grankvist from Falun after a winning time of 42.11 in the tight race.

“It is my fifth SM gold and perhaps the title that means the most to me. Anyone who followed me during the spring knows that I’ve had my fair share of challenges,” writes Nordén.

Jakob Söderqvist won the men’s class in 36.18 – eight seconds ahead of merited Tobias Ludvigsson.
