Dane Jonas Vingegaard has extended his contract with Jumbo-Visma for three years, until 2027, the Dutch team announced in a press release on Tuesday April 18. “I had a fantastic experience with the team who supported me in all areas so that I became the rider I am today,” commented the winner of the last Tour de France in this press release. “This is where I can realize my full potential. We will definitely reach an even higher level together,” he continued. Vingegaard, 26, joined the Dutch structure in 2019. He has 20 victories to his name. This season he has won three stages and the overall classification in both the Tour of Galicia (O Gran Camino) and the Tour of the Basque Country. “He was a diamond in the rough when he came to the team. Together we grew significantly, eventually winning the Tour de France,” explained general manager Richard Plugge as the Grande Boucle will once again be the rider’s big focus this summer.
