Cycling: Jenny Rissveds on the long-term plan: “After the Olympics in Paris, I would like to run two more Olympics”

Already in November, Rissved was given the go-ahead for the Olympics by the Swedish Olympic Committee, SOK. She is preparing for her third Olympics after a successful spring with a win and a second place in the World Cup in Brazil over Olympic distance.

The gold in Rio de Janeiro in 2016 led to an overnight breakthrough and an exposure that brought discomfort with depression and eating disorders as a result. The Olympics in Tokyo 2021 was a complete failure.

– Right now when I think about possibly winning Olympic gold, it just feels good. I think I could handle it in a better way because I have the tools and the experience, says Rissveds to Radiosporten.

Can switch to road

The 29-year-old is already dealing with the thought of many more years in the bicycle saddle.

– I might feel completely different tomorrow, but right now I’m having a lot of fun when I’m cycling. After the Olympics in Paris, I would like to run two more Olympics, Rissveds explains, and then we will land in Brisbane in 2032.

It is not certain that there will be mountain bikes in the years to come.

– I would like to drive more country roads for a few years and that it would be a natural transition if I get tired of mountain biking, thinks Rissveds.
