Customs on syrup and shampoo – so the EU can answer the United States

Thousands of goods can be affected by tariffs if and when the EU fills up with more trade measures against the United States.
The entire list is 99 pages long – with everything from neglects and shampoo to copper, molybdenum and pulp.

The EU responds to US new tariffs by reinstating the tariffs that have been dormant from the beginning of April since the trade disputes during Donald Trump’s first term as president. This includes all kinds of goods such as motorcycles, orange juice and bourbon worth a total of € 8 billion.

The goods may seem random, but are largely selected to hit production in areas governed by Trump supporters, hoping that their dissatisfaction will make the president more willing to negotiate.

At the same time, an even more extensive other wave is being prepared, of up to EUR 18 billion. Before this, a two -week is now starting consultation Where everyone who feels concerned is given the opportunity to think about the goods set by the European Commission on a 99-page list.

Here, too, the products are selected to mainly hit particularly Trump-friendly parts of the United States.
