In the Customs Board’s decision, which News24 taken note of, it is written, among other things, that the incident is being taken seriously.

“The customs office takes a serious view that XX has fired a shot of danger and thus breached the handling of weapons. XX has negligently disregarded his obligations in employment. The board has taken into account that the dangerous shot was fired in a public place, but that XX otherwise followed the process for handling service weapons”.

The incident has now resulted in the Swedish Customs Administration’s personnel responsibility committee deciding to award the customs officer five days’ salary deduction for the inadequate handling of the service weapon.

No one was injured in the incident.
