“Can top up every day”

The customers are like crazy and buy large amounts of loose candy before the Easter weekend. Store staff need to man the candy shelves hard, to make sure the candy doesn’t run out.

One who has noticed a big difference in candy sales this week is Lotta Eriksson, store manager at Ica Maxi in Ljungby.

– There is a real difference. We have to fill up every day versus what we need to do otherwise, she says P4 Kronoberg.

At Ica Maxi in Ljungby, loose candy sales have increased by 3,000 percent this week.

In a normal week, the Ica store usually sells around 150 kilos of loose candy, but now during Easter they expect to sell a whopping 4.5 tons of candy.

– Eggs with chocolate filling, hares… sweet candy, says Lotta Eriksson, to P4 Kronoberg, is what attracts customers the most.
