Vinted is a service where people around Europe can buy and sell used clothes, shoes and accessories.
The service was launched in Lithuania in 2008 and came to Sweden as an app in the fall of 2022. The app had 75 million users in 17 different markets in the fall of 2023, writes Break it.
Many people like the app and use it extensively. But now a change in the app has people seeing red. Vinted has raised its shipping costs drastically.

From the beginning, there were free deliveries on Vinted, then the shipping cost was raised to SEK 16. And now overnight, Vinted has raised shipping again without warning.
Now it costs at least SEK 29 to send a package, and heavier packages or delivery to the door are even more expensive.
The price increase has caused several loyal customers to react and many believe that it is no longer worth selling via Vinted, or that you have to make a package price to get things sold when the shipping has become so high.

People find it harder to sell with the new shipping cost
In several Vinted Facebook groups, shipping is discussed and how difficult it makes it to get things sold.
But there are also those who believe that they get more sales with the more expensive shipping, as people buy more garments at once.
The rent increase came into effect on the first of April and one that has been negatively affected by the increase is Lisa Barbic. She can no longer buy children’s clothes to the extent she would have liked.
– Many of us joked that “we can always hope it’s an April Fool’s joke”, but on April 2 it was still SEK 29, says Lisa Barbic, who herself uses the app often, to The Express.
But now Lisa Barbic believes that it will be unsustainable to shop at Vinted, as the costs drag away.
– It’s very sad. You find a lot of nice things, but at the same time you don’t want to buy a garment for 13 kroner, 10 kroner buyer protection and then 29 kroner shipping. It will still be almost where a new body costs, says Lisa The Express.

That’s why Vinted has raised the prices
In a comment to The Express Vinted shares why they chose to raise prices so suddenly.
“In line with various operational considerations, we have decided to adjust our shipping prices. These adjustments are always made with careful analysis to ensure prices remain competitive and fair to our members to maintain the affordability the community has come to expect when buying used,” they write.
