Customer arrested after trying to use counterfeit money at Chatham store

Man charged after Blenheim apartment clashes police

A woman was arrested and charged after a customer tried to use counterfeit money for a purchase at a Chatham convenience store on Thursday.

The store clerk kept the money and called police, Chatham-Kent police said.

The customer was located outside the store and arrested.

Police said a woman was charged with possession of counterfeit money and uttering counterfeit money. She was released and is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 21.
