    Three people have died in a Russian drone attack in the Kiev region after parts of a drone hit an apartment building, the Ukrainian rescue service said on Friday morning.

    The Ukrainian Air Force says it shot down 25 Russian attack drones over seven regions, including Kiev and the Lviv region.

    At least two people were also injured in a fire in a residential building.

    At the same time, Russia states that it has repulsed a large Ukrainian drone attack against several regions – including over the capital Moscow.

    The city of Stockholm is to procure drug detection with dogs for the municipal primary and secondary schools, reports Mitt i.

    Roger Adolfsson, security coordinator at the education administration, says that the aim is to prevent drug use, strengthen security and mark zero tolerance towards drugs.

    – Given the way society looks today, it is not unthinkable that children hide drugs in their cupboards.

    An employee at Lund municipality had his application to work from China during the Christmas and New Year holidays rejected due to security risks.

    Despite the employer’s refusal, the employee took the work computer with him to China and tried to log in to his user account, writes South Sweden.

    After a failed attempt, he managed to connect via a VPN service that simulated that the computer was in Malmö. The municipality acted quickly and blocked both the computer and service phone.

    – It was of course not okay to log in locally from China, says Johan Frithiof-Karlberg, head of digitization in Lund municipality to Sydsvenskan.

    The employee is now suspended with pay while an employment law investigation is underway.

    At 08.15 the police and ambulance were called to Kungsholmen in Stockholm.

    A man has then been attacked with an attachment by an unknown perpetrator.

    – The injured man is being cared for by paramedics, says police spokesperson Mats Eriksson.

    The suspected perpetrator has been arrested.

    – My opinion is that it happened outdoors, says Mats Eriksson.

    Police are classifying the incident as attempted murder.

    The police sent several resources to the scene and after a while were able to get the situation under control.

    No one was injured in the incident, but three young people were taken into custody by the police.

    A report of damage has been drawn up.

    Hundreds of people who have been in the United States without permission have been arrested and deported, according to a statement from the White House.

    “The Trump administration has arrested 538 illegal immigrant criminals,” writes President Donald Trump’s press spokesperson Karoline Leavitt in social media.

    According to Leavitt, “hundreds” have been deported from the country in military aircraft.

    The newly elected president was elected with promises to close the country’s borders to people who try to cross it illegally. He has also promised to carry out mass deportations of people who have not been granted the right to stay in the United States.

    When Trump took office, he immediately issued a series of directives, including declaring a state of emergency in the border areas with Mexico in the south and having more soldiers stationed there.

    Försäkringskassan’s control unit reported roughly 8,500 people to the police last year, an increase of around 500 – despite investigating fewer suspected benefit crimes, reports Ekot.

    – It’s about us getting better and better at working with the right cases, i.e. cases where there is a high probability of some form of crime in social insurance, explains Peter Fausö, head of the Swedish Social Insurance Agency’s control unit.

    At least 560,000 households and businesses are said to be without electricity in Ireland right now, the Irish Times writes.

    The power outage is a result of storm Éowyn which has moved in over the British Isles.

    A red weather warning has been issued for several parts of the country and the wind speed measured at 183km/h is a record high. At least 200 flights to and from Dublin have been canceled and all public transport has been suspended for the duration of the red alert.

    All the country’s schools are closed during the day and residents are asked to avoid all non-essential travel.
