– It feels so good and we have played well all week and it felt so good to be able to perform at this level in the semi-finals, says Isabella Wranå in SVT’s broadcast. Two years ago they were fifth in the WC.
In the seventh and penultimate round, Switzerland had the last stone and went for two points. It failed and instead Sweden “stole” a point and took a 6-3 lead and had the last stone. As the match was decided before the last stone, the eighth round was struck out and the score from the seventh stood as the final score.
– That was one of the key points. We got a “steal” and got into a very good position with three points up, says Isabella Wranå.
The shock of Estonia awaits in the final
Briar Schwaller screamed so that it echoed in the hall in Östersund, but her husband Yannick Schwaller could not steer properly and had to watch the match slip out of his hands.
– We played a little better than them the whole match, says Rasmus Wranå.
At 14:00 tomorrow, the WC final will be decided against Estonia, who beat Norway 8-6, in Östersund Arena, which will be broadcast live on SVT2/Play.
– It’s a huge shock. Is there feat gold in Estonia? Sweden must watch out tomorrow, you must not underestimate the opponents and we understand that when we see how well they played. It is not a coincidence that you first beat Canada and then Norway. It guarantees an exciting WC final, says expert Eva Lund.
