Efforts continue to help Sarnia residents clean up from debris a severe storm that hit the city two weeks ago.
A contractor collecting smaller bundled brush on the weekend wasn’t able to reach all properties due to the volume of materials. a city release said.
Curbside contractor brush collection will continue this week with the removing smaller bundled brush placed at the curb.
Brush should be bundled with jute or twine or placed in drained containers without a lid and “X” marked on two sides, the release said.
Bundles and containers should not exceed 22 kg and individual pieces of bundled brush should not exceed 10 inches in diameter and four meters in length.
City forestry crews continue to collect brush exceeding those sizes that has been placed on boulevards.
“Residents are asked to place no further large brush at the curb if their property has already been visited,” the city notice says. “Please refrain from mixing lumber, construction materials, furniture and other waste with large brush as these items will not be collected.”
The Sarnia Compost Site at 379 St. Andrew St., also continues to accept brush from city residents without charge and size limitations are being waived until the end of August.
