From January 10, 2022, the Culture Pass will be gradually extended to young people aged 15, 16 and 17. They allow them to reserve seats for shows, movies, buy books, subscribe to a music platform or take dance, singing or theater lessons.

Culture Pass from 15 years old: from when?

Initially offered to 18-year-olds, this Culture pass will be extended in January 2022 to all young people aged 15 to 17 for a variable amount. In fact, the system is in place: January 10 for 17-year-old students (30 euros), January 20 for 16-year-old students (30 euros) and January 31 for 15-year-olds (20 euros).

This is a device carried by the Ministry of Culture which allows the use of a credit of 300 euros to make cultural purchases.

Culture Pass: for whom?

  • The Culture Pass was initially aimed at 800,000 18-year-olds. 18-year-olds who do not have French nationality, but have been living in mainland France and overseas for a year, can also take advantage.
  • Since January 10, 2022, the Culture pass has also been offered to 17-year-olds and then gradually to 16 and 15-year-olds. The system includes an individual part, for young people aged 15 to 17, and a collective part, which can be used in schools, from 4th to Terminale. “The collective part of the “Culture pass” is open to any student enrolled in the 4th and 3rd class in a public or private college under contract, as well as to any student enrolled in a professional aptitude certificate under school statute or in a secondary school. second, first or terminal in a public or private high school under contract“specifies the decree.

Culture Pass: how much is it?

This Culture pass is a credit of 300 euros for 18-year-olds. The 15-year-old students will receive a Culture Pass of 20 euros and the 16 and 17-year-old students a Culture Pass of 30 euros.

The amount of the collective share of the Culture pass, for middle and high school students will be set by establishment, “in proportion to the number of pupils enrolled in each level of education concerned”. Note that this collective part is exclusively dedicated to funding artistic and cultural education activities carried out in groups and supervised by teachers.

What can I buy with the Culture Pass?

4,500 cultural places are listed in the Culture Pass catalog, including 2,500 physical locations. The offers are sometimes limited. The books can therefore be picked up from bookstores and cannot be ordered with Amazon. On the music side, Deezer is on offer and not Spotify. Finally, subscriptions on video platforms concern Canal +, OCS, Filmo TV (and soon Salto) but not Netflix, Amazon Prime or Disney. Another limit: digital expenses cannot exceed 100 euros. so, the Culture Pass allows you to:

  • Book tickets for shows or cinema
  • Buy books, drawing materials or a musical instrument,
  • Subscribe to an online music or video platform
  • To visit museums
  • Take dance, singing or theater lessons

You have to start with download the Pass Culture application on a computer or on a mobile phone via Google Play or the AppStore. Then all you have to do is register and then book the activities or cultural products directly on the application. Easy to use, it offers several features such as the duo offer which allows you to invite friends or geolocation which allows you to discover all the offers around your home.

Culture Pass: when can I use it?

Young people aged 18 must use the Culture Pass within 24 months. After this period, they can keep the Pass to consult the catalog of free offers posted. For middle and high school students, credits will be awarded each year as well. They can be used up to the date of the pupil’s 18th birthday without any possible postponement after this period.
