Cult fantasy horror with Kiefer Sutherland which received 2 sequels

Some films should just be left alone. The Lost Boys with Kiefer Sutherland is one such case. Batman Forever director Joel Schumacher’s fantasy horror cult was justifiably celebrated by fans and critics. And got in the 2000s surprisingly two sequels that have been completely forgotten today.

On TV: Kiefer Sutherland in a horror fantasy that became a trilogy

The Lost Boys revolves around young Michael (Jason Patric), who has moved to a small Californian town with his family. There he becomes aware of a fascinating group of bikers around David (Sutherland). As it turns out, they are vampires, but that doesn’t deter Michael.

Schumacher’s film became a box office hit in 1987 and received many positive reviews (via Metacritic). Plans for a sequel in the 90s failed, and two sequels, The Lost Boys 2: The Tribe and Lost Boys: The Thirst, were only released in 2008 and 2010. However, many critics completely ignored the second and third parts, as seen on Rotten Tomatoes. Cult is definitely only part 1.
