Culprit known: broken control system component caused train failure

In recent days it has emerged that a component in the operating system was the culprit. As a result, the software that controls the operation of the signals and points failed. Because the component was not working properly, it also failed to signal that something was wrong, preventing a backup system from turning on as intended. ProRail is conducting further research to prevent this in the future.
