The cult series, for which Quentin Tarantino even directed an episode, developed into a successful franchise with three spin-offs.
Over 7 years after the end of the series CSI is now returning to where it all began for German fans: From today, the revival CSI: Vegas is running on free TV on VOX. All 10 episodes of the first season of CSI: Vegas have been available to stream on RTL+ since autumn 2022. From February 22, 2023 it is too on free TV at VOX Finally so far. There will be CSI: Vegas every wednesday in double episodes at prime time from 8:15 p.m aired.
If you don’t want to wait that long for CSI’s return and don’t have an RTL+ subscription, you have another option. The complete version will be released on February 23, 2023 first season of CSI: Vegas on DVD.
That’s what the CSI revival is about and these stars are back
Those who don’t remember the later seasons of CSI will have no trouble getting into the revival. Because the Las Vegas crime lab now has a whole new cast and director named Maxine Roby (Paula Newsome). But of course, some original stars (and the Intro catchy tune Who are you by The Who) back.
The trigger for this is an attack on the former LVPD captain Jim Brass (Paul Guilfoyle), the Gil Grissom (William Petersen) and Sarah Sidel (Jorja Fox) from her well-deserved retirement. And this case is connected to a much larger conspiracy with nothing less than the fate of the CSI lab at stake.

Because lab technician David Hodges (Wallace Langham) is said to have tampered with evidence for years. If true, thousands of convicted felons could be released from prison, all with scores to settle with CSI staff.
The first season of CSI: Vegas consists of manageable 10 episodes. These combine the tried and tested Case of the week concept with an overarching storyline around the CSI conspiracy that Gil Grissom and Sara Sidle get to the bottom of. But there is also bad news for fans. After the first season, the CSI duo will no longer be seen.
In the US, CSI: Vegas is already running in season 2in which the next returnee Catherine Willows (Marg Helgenberger) trying to fill the Grissom-sized hole. A third season was commissioned by US broadcaster CBS in February. So the CSI revival is not a one-time thing.
