28-year-old Swede Jesper “JW” Wecsel is a professional player in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO). At the most unfortunate time ever, he was caught by a bug that snipers in CS:GO fear.
This was the situation:
Silencer slips through wall, revealing gunner’s location
What was that bug? JW used a silencer on the M4A1-S weapon: A known bug can cause the weapon’s silencer to protrude through a wall and then be seen.
That’s exactly what happened to poor JW by round 30: he’d positioned himself on a corner in such a way that he could grab a kill or even multiple kills right at the start of a match. But the treacherous silencer was sticking out through the map, the opponents were able to spot it so early and easily take it out of the game.
Without JW and therefore outnumbered, the EYEBALLERS lost the decisive match and thus the first of the 3 rounds, in the end they lost the match against Los Kogutos with 1-2.
What makes this so tragic? This silencer bug has been in the game for a long time and has repeatedly decided matches in CS:GO e-sports.
The bug is discussed on reddit and criticized that Valve has not managed to fix the bug in “a billion years”. There is “no excuse” for this, even if the bug is apparently difficult to replicate and only occurs relatively rarely. When he does appear – especially at such an important moment as this – he is all the more annoying.
