A cruiser was damaged when hit by a car as officers woke a sleeping driver in an East Street parking lot early Thursday, Sarnia police say.
Officers spotted a suspicious-looking car stopped in a lot at 110 East St. about 1:20 am, police said. The motor was running and two people inside appeared to be unconscious.

Cruisers and a tire deflator were deployed to prevent the vehicle from fleeing before officers tried to wake the occupants, police said. The vehicle hit a cruiser parked in front, causing minor damage, when the driver awoke.
A Wallaceburg woman, 42, is charged with dangerous driving, police said.
