Stoltenberg also highlighted the fact that Sweden has introduced new laws as an important step in meeting Turkey’s demands and thus getting closer to approval.

– We all want to end this process as soon as possible, he says.

The next step in the process is a meeting where Stoltenberg, Kristersson and Erdogan will meet. A meeting that will be held in Vilnius under the leadership of Jens Stoltenberg on Monday, says the NATO chief.

A meeting that takes place four days before the summit that NATO holds in the same city.

– Sweden has taken the necessary steps. They have approved arms exports to Turkey, they have changed their law and thus strengthened their terrorism legislation, he says.
