Crowded when the clubs in Ibiza reopen

Now the nightlife in Ibiza is in full swing and inside the clubs people are crowded and dancing as if the pandemic is just a memory.

“It is as if covid has never happened,” Michelle, a 31-year-old British tourist, told the AFP news agency.

Before the pandemic, the tourism industry, and then mainly club tourism, accounted for 84 percent of the island’s revenue. When the pandemic struck, the island was hit hard. The nightclubs were the first to close and the last to reopen their operations when the restrictions eased in the spring.

But now the tourists have found their way back to the party island. At an outdoor club overlooking the Mediterranean, about 7,000 people dance to music, reports the news agency AFP.

Club owners believe that the season can be better than 2019 – the year before the pandemic.

– Our expectations have already been exceeded. We can not know for sure, but everything indicates that the number of tourists will increase this year, says Paloma Tur, spokesperson for the nightclub Pancha to AFP.
