Cross-country skis: William Poromaa considered forgoing the Tour de Ski: “For a couple of hours I thought”

Hear William Poromaa talk about his expectations for the Tour de Ski in the player above.

Poromaa was in the lead at the start of the race in Davos at high altitude but then broke and has not raced since. It stings that he broke the race.

– I regret that I didn’t make it through the competition, but I felt then and there that it had become a tough opening. It felt like rest was the medicine and then it was just as well to start at once but I feel like I regret it, of course I do. It’s hard to break up, he says.

He was broken a couple of hours after the race in Davos.

– The basic plan has always been Tour de Ski. It was only for a couple of hours after the race that I thought about other tracks but made the decision to drive according to the plan quite quickly, says Poromaa about his thoughts.

Poromaa chose to remain in Davos until December 22 before going on to Toblach to celebrate Christmas. There is the start of the Tour de Ski on Friday 28 December with a freestyle sprint.

He has been training quietly with a lot of skiing to gather energy for the tour.

– I have had good training and rested up and am ready to get started, says Poromaa.
