It was after just under two and a half hours of skiing that the unusual pictures took place.

At the Vasalopp control in Oxberg, a rose -covered rider suddenly swung, wearing Ski Classic’s youth vest, with one rod.

It was Frenchman Jeremy Royer who was angry.

– I’m not very happy about the race. I wanted to do something good. But I lost … I chased the top cluster, then my rod went off, he tells SVT.

Explains the action

He explains, without pointing out any specific recipient of the violent kind, what happened.

– I would step into the track, then he also steps there and straight over my rod.

Royer was aiming for a top position, but it wasn’t.

– I’m not happy. I started well and it felt good. It ruined my race when the rod went off.

He is the foremost rider for 26 years in the entire Ski Classics, hence the pink vest, and places himself as a rider 18 in the total.

– I had hoped for a better race. I always hope for top positions, says Royer.

According to the results list, Royer then went in goal as 31st.
