Sundling sprinted in goal as third in the 20 km long mass start in Engadin. But then the jury investigated a possible obstruction for a situation in the curve towards the rally.
It all ended in a yellow card to Sundling. Something that the Swedish team chose to protest. Coach Stefan Thomson and Sundling were in the jury for a long time where they got to see the situation.
– We thought it was pretty tough. Absolutely that she is there and touches. But at the same time she gives place and I do not think it is crucial to the result, says Thomson.
He then confirms that the protest was rejected and that the yellow card remains.
– I think they (the jury) can be a little inconsistent sometimes. So that’s a bit why I wanted to try it. They release some stuff and so they are very hard on some stuff, he says.
Sundling critical
Jonna Sundling himself says this:
– I don’t think it’s a yellow card, but more a verbal warning. But it is the jury that decides it.
– But it feels unnecessary. I’m not one who likes to be in the way. No one wants a yellow card.
