Cross-country skiing: Maja Dahlqvist stands over the sprint in Lillehammer

The World Cup season’s first sprint of the season last weekend was given a blue-yellow touch.

Johanna Hagström took home her first World Cup victory and Maja Dahlqvist finished third.

“A bit sloppy”

But the day before the season’s second sprint, in Norwegian Lillehammer, the news came that Dahlqvist had chosen to sit out the competition.

– She has felt a little sluggish since last weekend. There are no clear symptoms really, but she has been a little more tired than normal, says national team coach Stefan Thomson to SVT Sport, and continues:

– So you can say that it’s a safety measure that she stays over the weekend, so we’ll see if we can put a stop to it before something breaks out.

Moa Ilar takes Dahlqvist’s place in Saturday’s sprint.
