Cross-country skiing: Kristine Stavå’s Skistad has had surgery – gone indefinitely

Kristine Stavå’s Skistad took several World Cup victories in sprints last year and is the skater who mainly challenges the Swedish sprint stars in the WC in Norway later in the season.

But the start of the season will not be optimal. The Norwegian federation announces that she has undergone stomach surgery and that she will undergo rehab and training in the coming weeks.

– The operation went according to plan and she is looking forward to the highlight of the season, the WC in Trondheim. She will compete again when she is ready, says national team doctor Ove Feragen.

The World Cup premiere in Finnish Ruka is just three weekends away and will be decided from November 29-December 1.
