Cross -country skiing: Jonna Sundling’s success – won the sprint

It was about Sweden and Norway on the rally. And when Sundling made a jerk, Stavås Skistad could not answer.

Something that Sundling was very pleased with afterwards.

– It’s tough when you know who you have behind you. And easy to happen to get stressed in your skiing technically and lose it. But now I could still go quiet to be a spurt and get good pressure. So it was fun, she says.

For Sweden, there was thus a revenge from last weekend’s competitions in Les Rousses. Then it was Stavås Skistad who took home the sprint. The Norwegian cracked the Swedes on the rally and won before Maja Dahlqvist and Sundling.

To once again have to stand at the top of the podium pleased a lot.

– It was fun. It was good skis, good body and good head. So it’s great to win today and go as the head wants. Because it’s not every day. So I am grateful for that, says Sundling.

She continues:

– Then I am a little extra happy that I finish in the way I do on the rally. I take that with me.

“Looking forward to the World Cup”

After the competition, Kristine Stavås Skistad told SVT that she is much motivated by Sundling before the World Cup and sees it as a great carrot to defeat her.

– It’s not that strange, I think. I take it as something positive, Sundling replies.

Do you think you are going into the World Cup as a gold favorite in the sprint?

– So, it may be difficult to refuse it completely with the latest competitions. But you know that there is a lot to be right. But I look forward to the World Cup and what comes afterwards, says Sundling.

Three in goal was Maja Dahlqvist.
