Cross-country skiing: Johannes Hösflot Kläbo sprinted home for the second straight Tour de Ski win

See Kläbo’s cocky gesture after the victory in the player above.

– It was a chaotic race and I had a big advantage from being in the slipstream downhill. I am not surprised that it was collected towards the end and am just happy to have been first, says Kläbo to SVT Sport.

Just before the stadium, Kläbo put in a jerk in the last counterback and got the necessary gap and was able to win ahead of three compatriots with Edvin Anger in a fine fifth place.

First podium in a distance race

There were no jerks during the race but a large cluster held together the four laps of the track in Toblach, Italy.

It was the first time this season that Kläbo was on the podium in a distance race. Most cheered was the third Håvard Moseby, called in as a reserve, who was able to take his first podium in the World Cup.

Just like Jessie Diggins in the women’s class, Kläbo has had a perfect start in the Tour de Ski with two opening victories.

– There are five stages left and on Tuesday it is 20 km so it will be tough. It should first be nice to have a rest day and recharge the batteries, says Kläbo.
