Cross-country skiing: Johanna Hagström won the sprint in Ruka – took her first World Cup victory

For the first time, she gets to step on top of the podium in the World Cup.

Johanna Hagström finished strongly and was fastest at the finish line. Norwegian Julie Myhre finished second in the final.

– It’s absolutely crazy, I’m teary-eyed. I don’t know what happened, quite honestly, says Hagström in Viaplay.

– I can’t believe it, it feels completely crazy. I had a really good day.

Praised by friends

Maja Dahlqvist made sure that it was double Swedish on the podium. She finished third (+0.83).

– I am very happy to be on the podium and great fun for Johanna. She was great, it was fun to see her get her first win. Good to keep the Ruka suite alive with a Swedish victory, says Dahlqvist to SVT Sport.

The third Swede in the final, Jonna Sundling, was just off the podium. She ended up in fourth place.

– Big congratulations to Johanna, I’m so happy for her. I think she has longed. She has been close so many times. It’s a lot of fun, says Jonna Sundling to SVT Sport.

Hagström also won his heat in the semi-finals.

Grate last in the final

On the men’s side, there was a Swede in the final. However, Marcus Grate faced a tough starting field and finished last.

Johannes Hösflot Kläbo won.
