Frida Karlsson did not succeed at all on the classic part in 20 kilometers of skiathlon where she finally became four. In Tuesday’s 10 kilometers classic it went better and she took the bronze.
But the entrance to the championship has been far from optimal for Karlsson who competed extremely sparingly during the season. She has had to control her training for the past six months.
– I have put a lot of powder on rehab and prehab. I have not competed so as not to risk it would be worse.
A foot injury, which in turn created groin problems, continues to put it.
– When I go with a bad attachment I get more scared and then I tighten a bit and it looks like last Sunday. Then maybe it takes a little more for me to trust it.
Run four races in one week
She says that the injury problems are getting worse with a lot of competition. And the World Cup is, to say the least, intense with four races in one week for the 25-year-old.
Do you feel any concern about it?
– Yes but now I’m in it. There is nothing to save on. This is what I have been looking forward to this season and I will give everything and try to keep it on a good level all the way.
For Karlsson, two rest days are now waiting before the ladies run a baton on Friday.
– We play a lot of ping pong, so there will probably be a lot of it. It must be my rest. Mentally, it becomes reloading.
