Jonna Sundling has started the new season in an impressive way, with, among other things, a superior sprint victory in Lillehammer last weekend, and a second place in the Ruka 20 km race during the opening weekend.

These fine efforts have meant that she is currently second in the overall World Cup standings, just behind reigning World Cup winner Jessie Diggins, after a start to the season that she describes as the best ever of her career.
Are you better than ever?
– Hahaha! I don’t know… But right now I’m maybe better than ever because I’ve never had such a good start to a season.
Despite that, the 29-year-old is not betting on taking home the World Cup at the end of the season.
– This season, my highlight is the WC, and the race I know I will go there is the sprint at the WC. Not everyone has a ticket there already, and I know that I’m going to do that race, and that’s why I prioritize sprints, says the reigning world champion to SVT Sport.
Sundling begins the competition weekend in Davos on Friday, where she forms a team with Emma Ribom in the sprint relay.
