Croatia takes bronze in FIFA World Cup: “Well deserved”

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

Croatia takes home the bronze medal in the FIFA World Cup after defeating Morocco 2-1. In the first half, Croatia took the lead already in the 7th minute – and just over two minutes later, Morocco equalised. Just before the half-time break, Croatia took the lead again through a goal by Mislav Orsic. The second half was goalless – and after a little more than 90 minutes played, Croatia was the winner. Well deserved, according to TV4’s football expert Gusten Dahlin on site in Qatar.

– For the Croatian part, it’s just a matter of raising our hats once again for what they get out of their rather small population, but above all this generation with whom they have reaped real success in recent years, he says.

During the championship, Morocco made history as the first team from Africa to reach a semi-final in the FIFA World Cup. Regardless of the loss, the country is the big surprise of the tournament – which breaks a glass ceiling, says Gusten Dahlin.

– That it then ends with two honorable losses, it is clear that it is sour. But I think that when the gunpowder smoke has settled, the team will be received as heroes and remembered for a long time in WC history, says Gusten Dahlin.

On Sunday, France and Argentina will settle for the gold.
